CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME TO WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY!

STUDENT ORIENTATION FEES
All first time and transfer students are charged a one-time Orientation fee. This is a non-refundable fee included in your first tuition bill. While we encourage you to experience the day on your own, if you bring a parent or guest, a $10 guest fee is payable at your Orientation session.

ACADEMIC ADVISING
During the orientation program, you will attend an advising session with other WayneDirect students. Your academic adviser will assist you in understanding the requirements of your major and in selecting courses for your first semester and Wayne State. We strongly encourage you to arrange an individual appointment with your academic adviser early in the first semester to develop a plan of study.

REGISTRATION
At the conclusion of your advising session you will register for classes. Please plan to stay for the entire orientation.

WSU Onecard
As a WayneDirect participant you will be provided a special WSU OneCard, a multi-purpose identification and debit card. The card can be used for parking, library services, copying and printing services, as well as food and bookstore purchases at Wayne State University and its neighboring partners.

TRANSFER CREDITS
After you have been admitted to WSU, your official transcripts are forwarded from the Office of Admissions to the Transfer Credit Evaluations Office. Prior to orientation, most students receive a preliminary transfer credit evaluation, or TCE. This will indicate to you which Wayne State University General Education requirements you may have satisfied. To help you better understand the courses that will transfer, check out the WSU Transfer Course Equivalency Web site at transfercredit.wayne.edu.

The New Student Orientation staff is excited to meet you! If you have any questions prior to the date of your program, or if we can assist in your transition to Wayne State University in any way, please do not hesitate to call us at (313) 577-3577 or email us orientation@wayne.edu.
