Transfer student orientation information
Welcome New Warriors!
Transferring to Wayne State is a very exciting time for students. Make sure you begin with a great start by keeping track of the Wayne State University deadlines, fees, placement testing and your New Student Orientation sessions.
Wayne State University's orientation is a required program designed to help you excel academically, adjust to college life and meet new friends, classmates and representatives from key service units along the way. We look forward to meeting you and helping to make sure your transition to Wayne State is as smooth as possible.
Prior to attending Orientation be sure to complete the following:
- Initiate your Pipeline account - pipeline.wayne.edu
- Check your Pipeline e-mail regularly
- Apply for Financial Aid
- Apply for Housing if needed
- Complete Placement Testing before you attend orientation
- Learn your student ID and accessID number. You will need to provide it during the orientation process
- Tell your parents of Parent Orientation sessions
- Read all WSU information sent to you via mailbox and inbox
Register for Orientation
Winter Orientation is held at the Welcome Center from 10 am - 2 pm. Lunch will be provided to all students that participate. Orientation dates for students admitted for Winter 2010 are:

- January 6, 7, 8
Students should select a date based on major. For the list of dates by major visit our Orientation Dates site. Students will be able to make a reservation for Orientation through Pipeline by mid-November.
