WayneDirect

WayneDirect is an early admission program or concurrent enrollment program for students at select community colleges who are interested in transferring to Wayne State University to earn a bachelor’s degree. The program provides participating students opportunities to learn more about Wayne State University’s academic programs, to participate in campus events and activities and to utilize university academic resources.

Admitted WayneDirect Students

 WHAT TO EXPECT
Our program is designed to use your time as efficiently as possible. While at orientation, you will attend an advising session with other students, register for classes, learn more about how your credits have transferred, and learn about services and activities to enhance your educational experience.

MAKE YOUR ORIENTATION RESERVATION
Orientation dates for students admitted for Winter 2010 are:Remember to check your WSU AccessID E-mail! Your Orientation confirmation will be sent to you through your WSU E-mail. For help with your AccessID or password, call the Computing & Information Technology Help Desk at (313) 577-4778.

Students will be able to make a reservation for Orientation through Pipeline by mid-November.

 

STUDENT ORIENTATION FEES 
Participants in the WayneDirect program will have the Orientation fee waived.  While we encourage you to experience the day on your own, if you bring a parent or guest, there is a $10 guest fee due at the time of your Orientation session. Payment for guest fees can be in the form of check or money order made payable to Wayne State University.

ACADEMIC ADVISING
Your academic adviser will assist you in understanding the requirements of your major and in selecting courses for your first semester and Wayne State. We strongly encourage you to arrange an individual appointment with your academic adviser early in the first semester to develop a plan of study.

REGISTRATION
At the conclusion of your advising session you will register for classes. Please plan to stay for the entire orientation.

WSU Onecard
As a WayneDirect participant you will be provided a special WSU OneCard, a multi-purpose identification and debit card. The card can be used for parking, library services, copying and printing services, as well as food and bookstore purchases at Wayne State University and its neighboring partners.

TRANSFER CREDITS
After you have been admitted to WSU, your official transcripts are forwarded from the Office of Admissions to the Transfer Credit Evaluations Office. Prior to orientation, most students receive a preliminary transfer credit evaluation, or TCE. This will indicate to you which Wayne State University General Education requirements you may have satisfied.
